Using Timetta in IT and System Integration

The IT services business is more dependent on the team than any other. On the one hand, the labor costs in the IT market are high and growing, on the other hand, the competition is fierce and it is not so easy to increase the value for clients.

Every hour of an employee’s time counts and must be spent as efficiently as possible. At the top level, company management controls the cost per hour, the billing rate, and staff utilization.

Timetta is a simple, and smart solution that helps you take control of these metrics.

At the same time, Timetta focuses on accounting tasks rather than control, and therefore doesn’t make employees experience an excessive control over them or their work. Even if teams use an Agile approach and generally don’t tend to plan and track time in hours, Timetta will allow them to record work as a percentage of working time.

What makes Timetta special?

Unlike task management systems like Atlassian Jira, Timetta focuses on supervisory challenges. Timetta and systems like Jira complement each other, solving different tasks and being handled by different employees in a company.

Timetta is designed to be used universally by all the employees, some of which can use Jira, some can only operate in Timetta, and some can use MS Project or other products.

But for management accounting, you need to get:

  • complete data on working time, in order to avoid a situation when part of the working time is not tracked and as a result you can not allocate the costs between projects;
  • coherent data, provided with timesheet approvals by the project manager and supervisor. After approvals the timesheet period is closed, which guarantees that the values would not be backdated
  • consistent data which is needed so that initial and revised project plans can be compared with actual performance after the project is completed.

Timetta acts as a unified system for collecting data on working time and preparing management reports.

Managing Director

MEF PKF has been using Timetta for exactly a year. It took two weeks to start the system, and now it has more than fifty employees. Of course, the accounting of working hours, planning of loading and project management were carried out earlier, without this the normal work of the audit and consulting company is impossible, however after the implementation of the system we reached a new level.

Today, the leaders of our company see all projects in dynamics, and the consolidation of data and analysis of the results of operations of the divisions and the company as a whole takes much less time. This is especially true for long-term and multi-stage consulting projects, where we monitor incoming requests and allocate our resources depending on client activity.

Thus, Timetta allows us to evaluate projects, employees, and customers from different angles and be even more efficient.
